My periods have never been great, but ever since I got a copper IUD they have been practically unbearable. Horrible cramps, heavy flow, you name it. I was desperate to figure out some effective ways to relieve my pain, so I did my research and found a few things that actually really work.
1. Avoiding Caffeine
Yes, I know this sounds scary if you’re addicted to coffee like I am, but it’s worth it. I just drink decaf while I’m on my period, and it has massively improved my cramps. Turns out, this is because caffeine narrows your blood vessels. WTF, right?! Anyway, my cramps have significantly improved since ditching caffeine during my special time of the month.
These things are like magic! Not only do they taste good and totally satisfy my PMS sugar cravings, but they totally can help alleviate cramps, acne, bloating, and mood swings. All this with non-GMO, vegan-friendly ingredients! I totally swear by Flo now, I can’t imagine going through PMS without them.

3. Exercise
Again, I know that exercising while on your period isn’t the most enticing thing ever, but it really does help a lot. It’s scientifically proven that exercise releases endorphins which improve your mood, relax muscles, and reduce pain. I guess it’s just like that saying no pain no gain, huh?
